k.d. lang Western Stage Outfit

This western-style floral shirt and long striped skirt illustrates k.d. lang’s signature cowpunk look during the mid ‘80s. Decked out with fake rhinestone-studded glasses and spiky hair, lang’s zany style epitomized the new-wave country of her generation. She wore this outfit on many occasions, including her debut performance on The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson in 1987. Carson was so impressed by the Alberta crooner, he invited her back to perform on his show the very next week.
