k.d. lang "Constant Craving" Shirt
This striped shirt with ruffled cuffs was worn by k.d. lang in the music video for her breakthrough single, “Constant Craving”, from her 1992 album, Ingénue. Loosely based on the 1953 play by Samuel Beckett, Waiting for Godot, in which two characters wait for the arrival of someone who never shows, the song evokes the yearning and desperation that accompany all forms of love. It became an international hit, earning lang a Grammy for “Best Female Vocal Performance” in 1993 and unintentionally inspiring the Rolling Stones’ song, “Anybody Seen My Baby”; lang and Ben Mink were later given a songwriting credit, along with Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.
