These handwritten lyrics are from Sass Jordan’s popular song, “High Road Easy” from the 1994 album Rats. Recorded in L.A., Rats featured legendary guitarist Stevie Salas as Jordan’s songwriting partner. Heavy on guitars, the album explores a grittier blues sound than her previous work, and focuses on themes of depression, drugs, and past relationships. Critically acclaimed, Rats is arguably Jordan’s masterpiece, and is said to be the Montréal rocker’s favourite album.
