Arp Quadra

This synth’s model name, Quadra, is derived from it having four synthesizers in one: bass, string, polyphonic and a 2-voice touch-sensitive lead synthesizer. It is described as being a computer programmer because of its pre-sets and variable technology; a musician would program their desired sounds into its 16 memory locations before a show. Though only manufactured by Arp Instruments Inc. for a brief period between 1978 and 1981, it has been used by such musical giants as Genesis, Pink Floyd, Nick Rhodes (Duran Duran), Josef Zawinul (Weather Report) and film maker John Carpenter.
