Carroll Baker Stage Outfit
This four-piece suede outfit was worn by "Canada’s First Lady of Country Music", Carroll Baker. Born in Nova Scotia, Baker’s first #1 hit came in 1975, when she recorded Conway Twitty’s song "I’ve Never Been This Far Before". She continued to have major success in the 1970s, winning the JUNO Award for Country Female Vocalist of the Year in 1976,1977 and 1978, and scoring 14 consecutive #1 records on the Canadian country charts. A star of radio and television, Baker was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 1992 and was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2009.
