"Rhapsody in Blue" Grand Piano

This limited edition Steinway & Sons grand piano was built to commemorate the 100th anniversary of famed American pianist and composer, George Gershwin (1898 – 1937). In 1924, Gershwin wrote and performed his most famous concert work, “Rhapsody in Blue”. Labeled as modern music, the piece’s rhythmic invention and melodic inspiration were often interpreted as a musical portrait of New York City. This blue, art deco piano features Gershwin-inspired elements such as a music desk with a carved silhouette of the New York City skyline, and a piano plate hand-painted with the first 24 notes of “Rhapsody in Blue.”
