The idiosyncratic sound of the Mellotron, an analog sampling instrument, is one of the most iconic in the history of electronic music. Ever listened to The Beatles, Led Zeppelin or Radiohead? If so, you’ve probably heard it. The M400 is the most widely used Mellotron model, but this example is one of a kind. Used as a demo model at the 1972 London Music Expo, it was built with a clear acrylic case so its interior mechanism could be visible.
