CBC/Radio Canada Broadcasting Console

This broadcasting console was custom built by Philips for CBC/Radio-Canada in the late 1960s. This console uses germanium transistors. However, by the 1970s, the music industry had quickly shifted to using the more affordable silicon, making this console quite rare, and highly desirable. This console was custom ordered by CBC/Radio-Canada and is based off a modified Philips MD12 console that had been redesigned to possess all the best features of the time. Throughout the years it has recorded many notable performances for broadcast, including the British progressive rock band Gentle Giant. The Philips Museum in Holland has said that this console is likely the only example left of its type.
