Daniel Bennett a.k.a Transit or Transit22 is an independent hip-hop artist based in Calgary, Alberta. Born in Victoria, B.C., he first gained notoriety in 2011 when one of his YouTube videos went viral. Later that year, his second album, 22, reached #2 on the Canadian iTunes hip-hop chart. A Western Canadian Music Award nominated rapper, Calgary poet laureate finalist and winner of a Lieutenant Governor of Alberta Emerging Artist Award, Transit has released six albums and has showcased at festivals like SXSW, CMW, and Breakout West. He has shared the stage with internationally recognized names like Mac Miller, Tech N9ne, Murs, Hilltop Hoods, Down With Webster, 54-40, and Shad, and has recorded with artists such as Grieves, Jann Arden, Astronautalis, Mad Child of Swollen Members, and Kyprios of Sweatshop Union. In 2015, his 5th album Super Man Took Steroids won Rap/Hip-Hop Album of the Year at the Independent Music Awards.
