Donnell Leahy Fiddle

Honing his remarkable talent since the age of three, Donnell Leahy has literally spent his entire life with a fiddle in his hand—the ¾-sized fiddle seen here was his childhood instrument. Raised on the Celtic music of his heritage, Donnell is the lead fiddler and front man for his eight-piece family band, Leahy—earning them multiple JUNO awards and a highly-praised run as the opening act for Shania Twain’s 1998/1999 world tour. Much like his wife, fiddling sensation Natalie MacMaster, Leahy has transformed traditional fiddling into a contemporary style that is all his own.
