Saddledome Electronic Organ
Go, Flames, Go!!!!!! The electronic organ seen here was originally housed in the Saddledome sports arena and played by renowned Calgary organist and business owner, Irene Besse, at Calgary Flames home games. Since the 1920s, live organ music has been a highlight of NHL hockey games, with organists using musical cues to lead crowd chants and add humour to the overall fan experience. Built to emulate a theatre organ, this instrument is capable of producing a variety of sound effects and requires the player to use both hands and feet.
