Ray St. Germain Suit
Seen here is a vintage performance outfit worn by Métis country entertainer and TV host, Ray St. Germain. Affectionately known as "Winnipeg’s Elvis", St. Germain got his start as a rock n’ roll musician in the 1950s before transitioning into cabaret singing and eventually country music in the 1970s. An award-winning recording artist and producer, Ray also hosted a number of television series such as Big Sky Country on Global and Rhythms of the Métis for the Aboriginal Peoples Television Network (APTN). In 1985, St. Germain was awarded the Aboriginal Order of Canada and was inducted into the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame in 2010.
