Jeremy Dutcher Stage Outfit
This outfit was worn by Jeremy Dutcher for his first Juno Awards appearance in 2019, where he took home the Indigenous Music Album of the Year award. The outfit is a one-of-a-kind collaboration between Dutcher and Canadian designers Michael Zoffranieri of ZOFF, and Derek Jagodzinsky of LUXX. Zoffranieri’s sweeping floral cape and sheer bodysuit with ‘colonial cuffs’ is paired with Jagodzinsky’s bold lining, repeating "We will succeed" in Cree syllabics. Visually stunning and evocative of numerous histories, cultures, languages and experiences, including the Indigenous and queer communities of the artists, the outfit also references 2019’s designation as UN International Year of Indigenous Languages.
